Classical guitar Making Demo!
30 minute demonstrations
4.15pm and 5pm
13th May, Central London, Cockpit Arts Bloomsbury
Description:
“Classical guitar making is an intricate process that involves traditional craftsmanship techniques and a deep understanding of acoustics, materials and musician's needs.
In this demonstration, Michael Edgeworth will demonstrate key tasks in the classical guitar making process including making/inlaying the rosette (the pattern around the soundhole), carving the head of the guitar, bracing the soundboard and polishing the guitar. This event will include a short piece played on a finished instrument by a Royal Academy of Music student.”
As the above poster and description mentions, I am holding a classical guitar making demo as part of London Craft Week, to mark the release of my new model and new workshop. There will be two 30 minute demonstrations. I will talk about/demonstrate some of the most interesting parts of classical guitar making. There will also be some drinks, and refreshments/canapes/homemade cake. The demo will end with a short performance on a finished Edgeworth Praemordia guitar (my new model). After the last demo, you would be most welcome to stay for some more drinks, cake and guitar talk.
Tickets are £12.50 and can be bought here:

The tickets also grant you access to a festival happening that day in the building where I work, called Cockpit Arts Bloomsbury. There are lots of craft businesses here, making things like jewellery, clothes, mosaics, art etc. On the day of my demonstration, many of these businesses will have open doors so you can pop in and see what they do too.

Finally, as the poster mentions, I am offering free setups most of that day, 13th May, to classical guitar players. This is on a first come first serve basis. You can book an appointment to avoid disappointment if you like.
My workshop is located about a 20 minute stroll from St Pancras
